A Sexual Journey Through Time – An Introduction

“We wish we had sex lives like Silas and Vivian.”  These words were spoken by some female friends of ours recently who are both in relationships.  The irony in this statement is we seem to feel we are going through a bit of a sexual rut lately.  We married in our teens and have now been joined in holy matrimony for close to ten years.  In those ten years we have managed to have a few children, pursued college and careers, and maintained a healthy relationship.  Life is hectic. That may be an understatement. Kids’ sports and activities, college, grad school, work, cleaning, yard work, homework…you get the idea.  As we approach the ten year mark we find ourselves a bit lost within the monotony that has become our sex life.  You see, after ten years you know what each other like and don’t like.  The thrill of something new wears off as most things you are comfortable with have been tried at least once before, and sex becomes routine rather than energetic.  This is due in part to our busy lives but also to the fact that we have been quite adventurous in our sexual decade, and are left wondering what else is out there.  We’ve had much more sex together than the average twenty-something who is in and out of relationships and partying.  We don’t have to go looking for sex, it’s been right next to us for the past 10 years!  We plan to co-author this blog in order to bring some passion back into our sex lives.  We have found ourselves searching for porn and toys aimed towards couples,   but sifting through the mountains of content can be a bit overwhelming.  We hope to use this blog to further explore our sexual interests, to find and review porn and toys for couples, to tell stories of our sexual adventures, and to share with our readers how sex within a marriage can be amazing if you are willing to make an effort.
